Alpha ministry is seeking willing volunteers to help fill a number of positions. Training will be provided to all volunteers before the Alpha sessions begin. Each volunteer is asked to commit to their role for 2 Alpha sessions.

Alpha Ministry Leader:

  • decide training schedule

  • choose team, assign tasks, hold team member accountable, be available to assist team members with decisions

  • communicate to congregation and team

  • organize/facilitate team tasks & meetings

  • Optional: openings at Alpha Sessions (this could possibly be done by the small group leader)

  • 1-3 hrs/week for 20 weeks

Alpha Small Group Leader:

  • facilitate group discussions

  • prepare attendance roster and ensure attendance is taken

  • optional: openings at Alpha Sessions (might also be done by Alpha Ministry Leader)

  • In-training to become a POH Small Group Leader

  • 3 hrs/week for 12 weeks (includes training, class time and meetings)

 

Alpha Small Group Helper:

  • observe group leader facilitate group discussions

  • take attendance and turn in to Alpha Admin Assistant

  • assist Small Group Leader as needed

  • in-training to become Small Group Leader for next session

  • 2 hrs/week 12 weeks (includes training, class time, and meetings)

 

Alpha Administrative Assistant:

  • manage attendance records

  • prepare the attendee invitation list

  • order supplies (books, weekend extras, etc - as needed)

  • take team meeting notes and distribute them to the team

  • 1 hrs/week for 12 weeks

 

Alpha Worship Leader:

  • Choose music for the weekend

  • invite music/worship team to play

  • coordinate and communicate to music team (as needed)

  • Worship Leader - 1-3 hrs/week for 3 weeks

 

Alpha Weekend Coordinator:

  • investigate locations cost for the weekend sessions (Fri night & Saturday) decide on the meal for lunch on Saturday (what to serve, catered or not, etc)

  • invite people to serve/prepare/purchase food for lunch (as needed)

  • coordinate lunch with other team members (Worship, Ministry Leader, Administrative Assistant, etc)

  • 1-3 hrs/week for 5 weeks
